NEW YORK _ In 1967, Andy Warhol spray-painted Coke bottles silver and filled them with a citrus fragrance for one of his artworks. It was never finished, however. Coca-Cola stopped it with a cease-and-desist letter.
Fifty years later, the Japanese fashion label Comme des Garcons (which means "like boys" in French) has brought it back. The unisex fragrance "Andy Warhol's You're In" was released during New York Fashion Week.
Channeling the original, it's got top notes of bitter orange, jasmine and makrut lime zest and comes in six sleek silver bottles, each with a Warhol quote on them. They're boxed in yellow-and-red packaging inspired by vintage film posters.
For now, you can only find them at Dover Street Market New York on Manhattan's East Side, CDG Berlin and CDG Parfum Paris. On Friday, they will begin being rolled out at Dover Street Market and Comme des Garcons locations worldwide through October. You can pick one up online at shop.doverstreetmarket.com.
It will cost you $95 per bottle, so let's hope it lasts longer than 15 minutes!
