€15 million sea pool plan along banks of River Liffey set to be proposed to Dublin City Councillors

A new €15 million heated sea pool along the River Liffey is being proposed to Dublin City Council.

The new pool is set to be located beside the Sean O'Casey Bridge, near the proposed white water rafting facility at the IFSC.

The facility's centrepiece is proposed to be a 50-metre heated outdoor swimming pool on a floating platform in the river.

A sauna, yoga facilites, a cafe, and corporate and meeting facilities are all also part of the plans.

Councillors are set to be presented with the idea next week,

Last December, Dublin City Council gave the green light to the controversial €22 million white water rafting plan.

That facility was hoped to serve as an 'anchor' to improve the range of leisure activity being made available along the River Liffey.
