15 members of MCA staff test positive for Covid-19

MUMBAI: As many as 15 members of the Mumbai Cricket Association's staff have tested positive for Covid-19, MCA secretary Sanjay Naik informed members of the Apex Council on Friday.

"Dear Apex Council members, this is to inform you that 15 members of the MCA staff have tested positive for Covid-19 today. I would request all the members to take proper precautions and get themselves tested. Also, the office of the association is being closed for three days from today," Naik said in a communication.

The MCA has already suspended all its local tournaments due to a surge in covid cases in the city. Mumbai saw a record 20, 181 fresh Covid-19 cases on Thursday.

In a first, association to hire PR agency

Meanwhile, for the first time in its history, the MCA, in a bid to improve its image, has decided to hire a PR agency. On Thursday, the MCA floated a 'Request for Proposal for appointment of a PR agency' on its website.

In the RFP, Naik has mentioned that "the MCA invites sealed tender documents for Appointment of PR Agency. The registered firm having a proven track record of expertise in the above field may submit their proposal to the secretary, MCA. The tender document can be downloaded from the website www.mumbaicricket.com. The cost of the tender document of Rs. 10,000/- (non-refundable) shall be given through bank draft in favour of the MCA along with the technical bid."

The last date of submission of the tender is January 13 on or before 5 pm.

The primary objectives of this RFP, as per the MCA, are: "To create awareness about MCA across the social media platforms. The selected agency shall be responsible for the overall digital marketing and communication campaigns across all social media and digital channels.

To formulate outreach and stakeholder communication strategies to build and sustain community support through awareness and engagement using social media handles. To effectively and innovatively disseminate information about MCA various activities to all stakeholders."

"The bidder should have an average annual turnover of Rs.10 crore in the last three financial years i.e. 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 as per the audited balance sheet available at the time of submission of tender, should have a minimum of 50 employees on its payroll, and should have a nationwide presence," said the MCA.
