Fifteen areas of the Liverpool City Region still have coronavirus rates above 100 cases per 100,000 people less than a week before instructions to stay at home end.
While four of the six boroughs in the region now have a borough-wide coronavirus rate of less than 50 cases per 100,000, there are pockets in all six boroughs which have a rate of more than twice that.
It comes as lockdown measures are due to be eased again at the end of the month.
On March 29, the government’s “stay at home” message will cease and people will be allowed to meet outside in groups of six or with no more than two households. Outdoor sports facilities will also reopen.
More easing is then set to follow no earlier than April 12, with the reopening of non-essential shops, outdoor attractions and outdoor areas of hospitality such as pubs and restaurants.
