Always great when their are stellar quarterback matchups in the Super Bowl. Looking at some of the current possibilities creates some fantastic possibilities … if they come to fruition.

Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees

This would be beyond stellar. Quarterbacks who have thrown for 145,000 yards and 1,037 touchdowns between them heading into the 2019 season. Not a whole lot more needs to be said to sell a Pats-Saints Super Bowl.
Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers

This one is like the first one. Two absolute, all-time greats facing off as they head into the golden years of their careers. This would involve quarterbacks who have thrown for 114,000 yards between them and 855 touchdowns.
Philip Rivers vs. Eli Manning

This would be a history dance. Quarterbacks who wound up being traded for each other after being selected in the 2004 NFL Draft. Eli Manning wanted no part of San Diego. Now, it would be a cross-country fight between LA and NYC. That would create some battle lines. They have already thrown for 110,000 yards and better than 700 TDs. The Giants are unlikely to be able to fill their half of the deal with Manning winding down his career on a struggling team.
Ben Roethlisberger vs. Eli Manning

Another possible title clash between teams that chose quarterbacks in the 2004 draft. Ben Roethlisberger went to the Steelers with the 11th pick. He has thrown for 56,000-plus yards and 363 TDs. Amazing how close the career stats of Roethlisberger, Rivers and Manning are.
Joe Flacco vs. Mitchell Trubisky

Nick Foles vs. Carson Wentz

Former teammates would do battle if the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles met in the Super Bowl. Nick Foles led the Eagles to their lone Super Bowl crown with an injured Carson Wentz injured and sidelined. Both QBs have received megabucks contracts this offseason, so their teams think they can bring them to the promised land.
Deshaun Watson vs. Russell Wilson

Love the possibility of two exceptional quarterbacks meeting in the Super Bowl. Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson are great leaders, can run with the ball and know how to find their receivers, no matter the coverage. A Houston-Seattle Super Bowl would provide plenty of fireworks
Andrew Luck vs. Aaron Rodgers

This matchup would feature two fantastic quarterbacks. Dig a bit deeper and you could mix in the Stanford-Cal rivalry as the Colts’ Luck played for the Cardinal and Rodgers did his college work in Berkeley for the Golden Bears.
Mitchell Trubisky vs. Patrick Mahomes

No instant rivalry here, but Mitchell Trubisky was the second overall pick in 2017 and Patrick Mahomes went to the Kansas City Chiefs with the 10th pick. Their teams went 24-8 in 2018, so it would not be a shock to see the Bears and Chiefs meet in the Super Bowl.
Jameis Winston vs. Marcus Mariota

Neither of the back-to-back Heisman winners have shown they have the championship mettle to lead a team to the Super Bowl. The 2013 Heisman winner Jameis Winston against the 2014 Heisman winner Marcus Mariota. They both have to get the starting marks over .500 before they dream bigger dreams.
Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Tom Brady

One-time pupil vs. mentor. The student vs. the professor. Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady would make for a sexy matchup.
Philip Rivers vs. Jared Goff

The way these teams are playing, this matchup isn’t far-fetched. The Rams and Chargers went 25-7 between them in 2018. Philip Rivers and Jared Goff are at opposite ends of their careers. So, what better way to have a star-studded, Hollywood script with the Los Angeles Rams against the Los Angeles Chargers. Too bad it likely would have to play out before the new stadium in LA opens and plays host to the big game.
Sam Darnold vs. Daniel Jones

These teams seem more likely to be playing for the top pick in the draft in the near future than any championships. Still, it would be fun to see a Big Apple battle with the young quarterbacks. Sam Darnold, from USC facing Daniel Jones, the Duke signal-caller drafted in hopes of stepping in after the Eli Manning Era for the Giants.
Josh Rosen vs. Kyler Murray

This would be a cold revenge game. Josh Rosen somehow gets the Dolphins straightened out and leads them to the Super Bowl to face Kyler Murray, the QB who replaced him, and the Arizona Cardinals, who ditched the former UCLA star after one season.
Baker Mayfield vs. Kyler Murray

Time to have some fun. Would be cool to see the back-to-back Heisman winners from Oklahoma playing with the championship on the line. Granted, the Browns are way close to the Super Bowl than the Cardinals. And there is no guarantee the Browns will be there in short order.
