14-year-old shot in back of vehicle in Albany Park

A 14-year-old boy was shot in a vehicle Thursday in Albany Park on the Northwest Side.

A witness told police they saw a dark-colored vehicle follow the one the teen was in about 10:33 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Central Park Avenue, Chicago police said. Someone fired shots into the rear window, striking the boy in the head.

The teen was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
