14-year-old girl threatened, tried to rob woman, police say

A 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man allegedly threatened a 56-year-old woman with a knife and copper pipe, police say.

Police alleged two people threatened the woman as she was putting things away in her car at a Wanniassa shopping centre, on June 21. One had been armed with a knife and the other with a copper pipe. The alleged attackers fled after the woman resisted.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man later that night, and said he was in custody charged with attempted aggravated robbery and would next face court on July 14.

The girl was arrested on Thursday afternoon after officers went to Uriarra Creek address. She is expected to face ACT Children's Court on Friday, charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
