PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered 14 country-made pistols and eight cartridges, collectively worth Rs4.9 lakh, after the arrest of two criminals on police records and one of their accomplices.
The anti-dacoity squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch, led by senior inspector Uttam Tangade, had arrested Akash Misal (21) of Bhosari, Rupesh Patil (30) of Jalgaon and Hritik Tapkir (26) of Pashan on January 3 based on a tip-off from constable Sagar Shedge. Two country-made pistols and two cartridges were recovered from them. “The police recovered 12 more country-made pistols and six bullets from them during their interrogation,” the police said.
