13-year-old West Lothian schoolboy dies after being struck by train

A 13-year-old teenager has died after being struck by a train in West Lothian this week.

Emergency services are said to have raced to the scene after the schoolboy was hit by the ScotRail train on Friday (June 18).

The incident had occurred as the train travelled between Falkirk Grahamston and Linlithgow train stations, reports the Daily Record.

On Friday evening, ScotRail officials confirmed last night that they were 'working closely with emergency services'.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been disclosed, with a formal identification also yet to be confirmed.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.

The British Transport Police have also been contacted for comment.
