13 Reasons Why Season 3 trailer sees Clay arrested for Bryce's murder

A new trailer for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why shows the arrest of fan favourite Clay Jensen for the murder of bully Bryce Walker - though fans are convinced Clay didn't do it.

Bryce's murder will be the focus of the third season of the hit show, which comes to Netflix in October.

In the teaser trailer, Clay - played by Dylan Minette - emotionally claims, "I didn't do anything!"

His mother replies: "But the police think that you did."

Earlier in the trailer, Clay tells Jessica Davis, "Someone we know could have done this."

Jessica replies that his idea is "crazy", to which Clay hits back: "Is it?"

Clay shows no sadness at the bully's death, shouting: "The whole f**king world is better without him in it."

The trailer indicates that Clay might be guilty, but many fans claim they will not fall for the red herring.

One fan wrote: "The only thing I'm sure is that Clay didn't kill Bryce."

Another said: "Despite the trailer pointing towards Clay, I'm 100% sure it wasn't him."

Others believe the murderer might be Jessica Davis, who Bryce raped in season 1.

Bryce also raped Hannah Baker, played by Katherine Langford, which is one of the reasons Hannah takes her own life.

Her suicide was the focus of that season.

Some have speculated that Bryce might also have killed himself. The show has courted controversy for Hannah's graphic suicide scene, which Netflix has since deleted.

The show has also run into criticism over its depiction of heroin addiction and rape over its first two seasons. It's thought such scenes might be triggering for some viewers.

Many fans questioned why a graphic sexual assault scene was left in the Season 2 finale. In the scene, Tyler Down, played by Devin Druid, was assaulted by Timothy Granaderos' Monty.

Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why will be available to stream on Netflix in October.
