13 Reasons Why season 3: Netflix's most controversial series releases brand new trailer

Netflix has revealed the first trailer for its controversial teen drama 13 Reasons Why.

The chilling clip teases a new storyline for the third series, which will revolve around the mystery of who killed Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice).

At Bryce’s funeral, his mother pleads for the students of Liberty High School to “please say something” if they know anything at all about her son’s death. Lead character Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) can be seen looking conflicted over whether to speak out.

The trailer also reveals that the drama will be returning to Netflix on 23 August 2019.

13 Reasons Why has been the subject of controversy for the graphic depiction of suicide in season one, which revolved around the death of Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford).

In July, Netflix announced that the scene in question would be edited from the series.

13 Reasons Why season three premieres on Netflix on 23 August 2019.
