13 Reasons Why cast break down in emotional trailer for fourth and final season

A new 13 Reasons Why trailer shows the cast in tears behind-the-scenes of the controversial show.

The drama series is returning for its fourth outing in June, and the streaming service has marked this with a first look at new episodes, titled “Saying Goodbye”.

Cast members, including actor Dylan Minnette, can be seen hugging as they finish their final ever table read together.

“I will never forget this experience for the rest of my life – thank you,” says Alisa Boe, who plays Jessica.

The clip is soundtracked by Lord Huron’s “The Night We Met”.

13 Reasons Why has faced a huge amount of criticism since beginning in 2017.

The series sparked a debate about whether it deals with the subject of teen suicide tactfully and was criticised heavily by mental health organisations.

It was reported at the time that schools were issuing letters to parents warning them about the drama, which led to the show’s producers defending their decision to include a controversial suicide scene.

Netflix recently revealed it was taking “the advice of medical experts” and revised the season one finale, in which the three-minute long sequence originally featured, ahead of the show’s third season.

13 Reasons Why‘s final season will be available to stream on Netflix from 4 June.
