More coronavirus deaths in Merseyside hospitals

There have been seven further deaths of coronavirus patients in the Merseyside region.

The Wirral Teaching Hospitals Trust recorded a further four deaths at its hospitals - taking the overall total to 205.

Deaths stayed lower in Liverpool, with just two further deaths refistered at the city's main Trust and none at the smaller facilities.

The total figures for the city's NHS Trusts are:

Liverpool University Teaching Hospitals Trust - 397

The Walton Centre for Neurology - 9

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital - 17

Alder Hey Children's Hospital - 4 (all adult patients)

Mersey Care Mental Health Trust - 3

The St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust has recorded one further death to reach a total of 181.

There were no further deaths recorded at the Southport and Ormskirk Trust or the Halton and Warrington Trust, which remain on totals of 133 and 114 respectively.

An earlier version of this article mistakenly reported an additional 7 deaths at St Helens and Knowsley Trust, which was an error, this figure has been corrected to one.
