13 hours of rain could hit Nottingham and parts of Nottinghamshire today according to the Met Office

If you were hoping for some sunny weather today, we have some bad news.

Forecasters have predicted that we could experience around 13 hours of rain in the city and parts of the county today.

The Met Office has predicted that the rain will not stop from 10am until 11pm tonight.

What should you expect?

Forecasters have said there will be a mix of light but mostly heavy rain today which will hit Nottingham and parts of Nottinghamshire.

It will be a dry start with some strengthening winds before rain turns more persistent during the afternoon with some very heavy bursts.

Tonight will see rain and strong winds, easing through the first half of the night. It will turn mostly dry, with clear spells, although the chance of isolated showers by dawn.
