12 youths charged after cops swoop on Glasgow street disturbance

12 youths have been charged in connection with a disturbance on a Glasgow street on Saturday.

Dozens of cops swarmed the scene just two days after lockdown restrictions were lifted.

Several police vehicles swooped Wyndford Road at around 6.30pm on Saturday night.

Video from the scene emerged on social media showing officers spilling onto the street as stunned onlookers watch from the flats opposite.

Police Scotland confirmed that 12 youths, between the ages of 12 and 16, have now been charged in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland can confirm that 12 youths, aged between 12 and 16 were charged in connection with a disturbance on Wyndford Road, Glasgow on Saturday, 30 May, 2020.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and Children's Panel."
