12-year-old busker wows crowds on Grafton Street with remarkable performance

A young busker has wowed crowds on Dublin’s Grafton Street with an incredible performance of a hit song by a grammy award-winning artist.

In a video shared by Dublin comedian Fabu D, 12-year-old Fionn Whelan from Wicklow was snapped playing to people on the street recently.

“How old are you bro?” Fabu D asks him in the video. He responds by telling the Dublin comedian that he is only 12 years old.

Fabu D then asks where the boy is from and Fionn tells him he is from Wicklow before Fabu D says “lemme hear what you got bro, this guy is a legend.” Fionn then proceeds to play an amazing rendition of When We Were Young by Adele.

The tune wowed both the crowd and Fabu D’s online audience, with many people flocking to the comments to praise the young singer's talent.

One person posted: “This young lad will go places brilliant.”

Another added: “This young Man has it in abundance. A star in the making. Wishing him the very best of luck in the future.

“From Wicklow myself and it’s fantastic to see such young talent in the area. The next Hozier perhaps.”

Someone else commented: “Wow, what an amazing talent I can imagine. How good he will be in five years' time, brilliant young man.

“Enjoyed your song and would love to hear you sing some older songs and ballads. Well done enjoy your music.”

Fabu D also praised the young artist, commenting under the video: “Such a great energy in his voice wow I wish him the best of luck in the future. What a superstar” alongside a link to Fionn’s Instagram.
