12-storey scheme on £200m MeadowSide residential development tops out

A 12-storey scheme on the £200m MeadowSide residential development in Manchester city centre has topped out.

The Mount Yard scheme , comprised of 136 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and townhouses, is the latest phase of the MeadowSide development of 756 homes across four residential blocks overlooking Angel Meadow Park.

David Chiu, CEO of developer Far East Consortium, carrying out the scheme, said topping out is a “milestone” for MeadowSide as the developer’s first project in Manchester.

Mr Chiu said: “I have been really encouraged with the progress on site since my last visit, and the steady progress being made with sales and in particular, since we were able to introduce Help to Buy.”

The scheme, delivered by Bardsley Construction, is due to be completed in the summer of 2020.

Far East Consortium said prices for apartments will start at £197,950.

Construction on 22-storey The Gate and 17-storey building The Stile, comprised of 286 one, two and three-bed apartments and penthouses, is due to be completed in Spring 2021, the developer said.
