King of Christmas merchandiser Martha M. says personal design and size are the two main factors when choosing the best tree skirts for your tree.
"Firstly, you have to consider what your overall theme for the tree is, Martha said. "Is it rustic farmhouse, winter wonderland, classic red and green?"
While you're figuring out the best Christmas tree theme, Martha told w&h to consider choosing a colour that goes well with your theme and also contrasts with your floor for a visually appealing look.
When finding the perfect size tree skirt, Martha advises that you first need to decide whether you want an oversized or fitted tree skirt.
"For a more fitted look, we recommend your tree skirt to be a little larger than the diameter of your stand but smaller than the diameter of the tree's outer branches. If you are more into the oversized look or expecting to have a lot of presents under your tree, we recommend sizing up."
And if you want a switch from the classic tree skirt to the trendy tree collar, Martha says tree collars are meant to be tucked under the tree and should be slightly larger than the tree stand's diameter.
