LUCKNOW: Taking cognizance of the dilapidated condition of government schools in the state capital, close to dozen real estate developers have offered to renovate them under corporate social responsibility (CSR).
On September 30, TOI reported about wobbly buildings of government schools in Lucknow following collapse of a ceiling of two classrooms at the Government Girls’ Inter College in Narahi area of the city.
District magistrate Abhishek Prakash said, “A total of 65 primary schools and 51 secondary schools of rural and urban limits will be renovated under CSR.”
“The restoration work comprises strengthening of walls, restoring roof, wall painting, repairing of toilet, providing drinking water facility and improving electricity wiring,” he added.
