A total of 111 new cases of novel coronavirus infections were confirmed in Tokyo on Sunday.
Although the latest figure is below the 131 new cases reported Saturday, it marks the fourth consecutive day the figure has exceeded 100 in the capital.
According to the Tokyo metropolitan government, it is the first time the figure has exceeded 100 on four consecutive days since April 22-25, during the state of emergency.
