111 by Modou: Watch as top Glasgow chef cooks beautiful rabbit dish from new menu
Top Glasgow chef Modou Diagne has launched his latest menu - and we headed along to get a sneak peak.
111 by Modou first opened its doors in the west end of Glasgow in August 2020. However, due to lockdown, you've perhaps not yet had the chance to pop by the beautiful Cleveden Road restaurant to try one of the many delightful dishes created and cooked by the award-winning young chef.
In 2020, renowned Six by Nico chef Nico Simeone announced the popular Glasgow restaurant 111 by Nico was to witness its biggest change to date with his close colleague and friend, Modou Diagne, taking over the reins.
Originally from Senegal, Modou quickly climbed up the ranks from kitchen porter to head chef, and in March 2020 Nico offered him the opportunity to make his mark in the industry under his own restaurant brand.
And since the opening, the incredibly talented Modou has wowed Glasgow diners with a series of impressive dishes which he serves up as part of his five course seasonal tasting menu.
Also on the menu is a supremely delicious and immaculately presented rabbit dish, inspired by Modou's upbringing in Africa. And we were lucky enough to see Modou in action as he welcomed us into the kitchen to show us how this delicately prepared food was put together. We also spoke to Modou about his story from Senegal to Scotland, from kitchen porter to head chef, and you can see the interview in the video below.
111 by Modou is found at 111 Cleveden Rd, Kelvinside, Glasgow G12 0JU. The restaurant is be open every Wednesday - Sunday from 12pm - late.
