Speaking sensibly is one of the last things you would expect of a MAGA supporter. As strict believers of lying, on more than one occasion, these radical individuals have made unfounded claims as a way of legitimising their behaviour that follows.
If you have been keeping up with all that is happening in the world, you would know that Donald Trump, since assuming office as the President of the United States, has established a reign of terror in America. At present, his focus is on the immigrants or as he says, the “illegal aliens.”
For months, with he help of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Trump has been conducting raids throughout the state to identify immigrants and terrorise them. While in some places searches are more regular, in others, they are yet to be introduced. President Trump has repeatedly pushed for increasing the area of conduct for these raids. However, leaders of specific regions have refused to submit to his demands and taken the path of law to counteract him. Nevertheless, despite repeated pushback, he hasn’t stepped back.
Donald Trump has at times evaded the law and sent military troops to exercise control over cities whose situation he compares to that of a war. Recently, he deployed several National Guard units to Chicago, a city where Democrats hold a majority, despite opposition from its leaders. While his move was severely criticised by people who were quick enough to identify his affinity to attack the Democratic majority cities, a few of his sympathisers sided with him. Among them is Director of the FBI Kash Patel, who has never shied away from singing praise for Trump. Justifying the troop deployment by the President in Chicago, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Patel claimed that there were “110,000 gang members” active in Chicago as of now. He also said that the city had “1,200 shootings” and ” 360 homicides” this year.
He did not stop there, as he continued to thank Donald Trump for taking care of the “violent crime”: one that most definitely exists, but not to the degree he insists.
People on the internet immediately saw through Patel’s lies and tore him apart on X (previously Twitter). One person wrote:
“110K people are criminals? Wow, that would cripple the Chicago prison system. 110K would be El Salvador without Bukele, Kash is trash and a liar.”
Others also echoed a similar sentiment, highlighting that Patel’s numbers were faulty.
