11-year-old girl suffers fractured skull after being hit by taxi in Renfrew

An 11-year-old girl has suffered a fractured skill after being hit by a tax in Renfrew.

The incident happened on Sandy Road on Saturday afternoon around 4:20pm.

Thankfully an off-duty doctor who was nearby came to the girl's aid after she was knocked unconscious, the Daily Record reports.

She was then taken by ambulance to Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to her injuries.

Police say she is expected to be released in the next few days and that, following an investigation, no crime was established in relation to the incident.

Inspector Allan O’Hare of Renfrewshire’s Community Policing Team, told the paper: “Police attended reports of a road traffic accident in Sandy Road, Renfrew, at around 4.20pm on Saturday.

“An 11-year-old girl was injured and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

"She is expected to be released in the coming days. Officers carried out an investigation at the scene and no crime was established.”
