11-year-old boy battered by gang on day out at Paisley park with his granny

An 11-year-old schoolboy was battered by a gang as he visited a park with his granny.

The lad was left bloodied and bruised when the thugs set about him in the broad daylight assault.

Police reveal the boy was enjoying a day out with his grandmother and aunt at Barshaw Park in Paisley when his attackers struck, punching, kicking and dragging him to the ground.

Now they're appealing to the public to help find the yobs responsible for the terrifying incident, the Paisley Daily Express reports.

The gang struck just after 4pm on Friday, and are all believed to be around 11 or 12 years old.

They ran off in the direction of the park golf course, leaving the victim with a bloody nose.

One of the attackers was wearing a green Celtic top, another a grey hoodie while the other two were dressed all in black.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, at Paisley police office said: "We are investigating after an 11-year-old boy was assaulted by a group of four other boys at Barshaw Park.

"The victim was with family members when he was attacked by a group of four other youths who then made off from the scene.

"He sustained minor facial injuries and has been left distressed by what happened."

She added: "If you witnessed the incident or saw four youths in the area matching the description then we would like to hear from you."
