11 things home-buyers can expect to happen when buying a house

Buying a house is perhaps one of the most expensive things you will purchase.

Along with money worries, there are a number of other problems that can occur during the process.

So, we've listed 11 things that most likely will happen during the long road to securing your dream homes.

Here's 11 things that are bound to happen while your buying a home for the first time or the fifth:

1. Your phone won’t stop ringing from estate agents trying to tempt you

And chances are, the house they are offering you to view is NOTHING like the one you want to buy.

2. You’ll bookmark Rightmove or Zoopla on your internet browser

During the initial stage of finding a house, you’ll struggle to tear away from Rightmove or other property sites. So you might as well save the page in your browser as soon as you start looking.

3. You’ll feel panic, stress and overpowering emotions

The process of buying a house is a stressful time in our lives but it is also one of the most rewarding. During the stages, you’ll be fluttering from wanting to pull your hair out to pure excitement.

4. Money and budgeting will be the most important factors

If you’re a first-time buyer, you might have saved for AGES to afford a decent deposit and you will want your money to go a long way because buying a house doesn’t stop at a deposit.

5. Your survey will probably find problems with the house

If you have a survey, it is rare for no problems to be found. So it's pretty likely that you'll have to address a series of issues.

6. A housing hiccup will probably slow things down

If the survey or any inspection finds something rather unsavoury, you might think of going back to negotiate.

7. Even if you’ve put an offer down on your dream home, you’ll keep looking

Even if you’ve found the home of your dreams, Rightmove will still be a site you’ll occasionally frequent.

8. You’ll look at homes that you definitely can’t afford

"I’m almost certain we can’t afford the £5,000-a-month mortgage but we can try?!"

9. You’ll either love or loathe packing to move

If you’re renting or living with parents, packing to move in to your new home will mean packing all your personal belongings which you’ll either love or absolutely hate.

10. You’ll never trust an estate agent and you’ll be glad to never hear from them again

We’re always told not to trust estate agents if you’re buying a property but that will definitely come into reality when you’re buying a home.

11. It will all be worth it

In the end, all the stress and the problems you have endured during the past few months will be 100 per cent worth all the effort and money.
