The North East has many talented tattoo artist with thousands of followers.
Their work ranges from haunting dark designs to bright and colourful cartoons - some even do realistic portraits and sketches of animals.

1. Paul_la_vey_tattoo
Paul LaVey specialises in realism tattoos and family portraits like the one of Bradley Lowery above.
He has won multiple awards in the UK and countries such as India and Bali. His popularity shows as he has over 32,000 followers on Instagram.
2. Adamlinktattooer
Adam Link owns a tattoo shop in Heaton. He does high contrast black and grey artwork which have "quite dark themes and are almost evil looking".
3. Staceygreentattoo
Newcastle tattoo artist Stacey Green has over 19,000 followers on Instagram. She does dot work, floral and geometric tattoos.
4. Alexrowntreetattoo
Alex Rowntree does neo-traditional tattoo work. This is a modern style of tattoo art as it uses bold lines and often features cartoon characters, like Alex's Stitch creation above.
5. Rhodsontattoos
This artist has a niche style of tattooing as he creates colourful Manga and Anime designs.
However Rhodsontattoos has also been known to also do geometric and mandela dot work pieces.
6. Gavinlyons88
Gav Lyons is a traditional tattoo artist who creates bold and colourful designs. He also does cover-ups and has over 12,000 followers on Instagram.
7. Cori tatttoos
Cori's tattoos are inspired by nature, animals, flowers and mushrooms feature a lot.
The Sunderland tattoo artist said: "I love to add a bit of darkness and magic where I can, but contrasted with soft, delicate details.
"My favourite things to tattoo are dark medieval weapons and witchy hands, juxtaposed with pretty flowers and pastel colours."
8. Jaysinburgessnst
Jaysin Burgess is another talented traditional tattoo artist who works in Newcastle. His designs include animals, flowers and skulls, to name a few.
9. Abbiegrahammm
Former dental nurse Abbie Graham is a self-taught tattooist who featured on ChronicleLive in 2017 for setting up the first all female tattoo parlour in the North East.
Abbie said her "favourite tattoos to do are traditional colour work" but she "covers most areas and does a lot of cover ups."
10. Jvckbarrow
Jack Barrow's tattoo art is inspired by "woodcut and block printing which has been around for a long time, particularly in Chinese and Japanese art."
Jack said: "I'm still experimenting and finding what I enjoy tattooing.
"I love weird and random ideas and I tend to just draw whatever comes into my head."
11. Littlerachtattoo
Little Rach Tattoo creates bright and fun designs. She said: "I like my tattoos to be as cute, colourful and glittery as possible.
"I love looking at kawaii culture for reference as well as; 80s/ 90s cartoon and comic book characters."
Rach works in a private studio in Darlington which she co-owns with her fellow tattooist partner.
