BHOPAL: A total of 11 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. Same number of cases were reported in the state on the previous day (Tuesday) as well. With these new cases, the tally of cases reported so far in the state has increased to 7,91,778.
Numbers of active cases have now gone below 150 as there were 130 active Covid-19 patients in the state as on Wednesday.
No new case was reported from 45 districts while the seven districts where new cases were reported, four districts reported only one new case each. Maximum cases were reported from Indore districts where three people tested positive, followed by Bhopal and Sagar as each of these districts reported two new cases each. One patient tested positive each in of Balaghat, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Raisen districts.
On Wednesday, a positivity rate of 0.01% was reported in the state. Positivity rate is the number of people testing positive out every 100 samples tested. As many as 71,075 samples were tested and of it, only 11 were found positive. Thus on an average one person, out of every around 6,400 who were tested, was found to be positive. The number of people recovering from the disease also outnumbered the number of people tested positive as18 people recovered from the disease on Wednesday. Thus with these people recovering, the number of people who have recovered so far from the disease reached 7,81,135.
One death was reported in the state on Wednesday taking the death toll due to Covid-19 to 10,513 since the pandemic began.
Indore and Ujjain divisions have been witnessing a significant drop in new Covid-19 cases as on Wednesday only three tested positive for the infection.
The new cases were reported from Indore district, while in remaining 14 districts — Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Agar, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Barwani, Khandwa and Burhanpur — of the divisions no person tested positive for Covid-19.
