11 local areas with worst Covid-19 rates in Ireland right now as one spot sees enormous rise

A Donegal area has the worst Covid incidence rate in Ireland over the last two weeks, according to latest data.

The HPSC today updated their local electorate map which shows the Lifford/Stranorlar has by far the worst rate in the country.

An incidence of 602.6 per 100,000 for the last 14 days up to Monday makes it by far the worst in the country.

Celbridge in Kildare follows with 305.2 with Kimmage-Rathmines on 282.8 the worst areas in the entire country.

Many Dublin areas remain way above a rate of 100 with country areas like Monaghan town and Bray West in Wicklow also featuring.

The figures have been released on the same day 424 new cases were confirmed with four further deaths.

The huge jump has led to NPHET recommending three further restrictions across the country.

  • Palmerstown-Fonthill - 184
