There are 11 areas in the North East with high coronavirus infection rates.
Southwick, in Sunderland, has the highest rate of infection after recording 38 new cases in the week leading up to February 5.
Sunderland’s Town End Farm has the second highest rate after 41 new cases, followed by Wingate and Castle Eden, in County Durham, which recorded 35 cases.
Public Health England data revealed that of the 11 areas, Town End Farm, Peterlee South, Consett and Chirton all recorded rises in cases.
It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed that he hopes everyone over the age of 50 will be vaccinated "by the end of April".
Speaking at a Downing Street press conference on Wednesday, Mr Johnson said the Government was on target to offer vaccinations to everybody aged 70 and above by its deadline of Monday February 15 - but urged anyone in this age group who hasn't had a vaccination yet to step forward.
And he issued a plea to care home workers, who are also eligible for vaccinations now.
The next stage of the vaccination programme, offering jabs to everyone aged 50 and over, is due to start soon, with people over the age of 65 expected to be first in line.
