11,754 new Covid cases, 123 deaths Friday

Thailand logged 11,754 new Covid-19 cases and 123 more fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Friday.

There were 11,253 cases in the general population and 501 in prisons.

The number of new cases rose from the 11,646 announced on Thursday, when the country recorded 107 more deaths.

On Thursday, 12,473 Covid-19 patients left hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid-19 began, Thailand has treated 1,586,366 Covid-19 patients, 1,455,720 of whom have recovered to date.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 1,615,229 Covid-19 cases, with 1,483,146 complete recoveries so far.

The death toll stood at 16,756 during the third wave and 16,850 since the beginning of the pandemic.
