MORE than 30 roads across Glasgow will face restrictions next week as more than 11,000 Orange Order members take part in a march.

Around 11,030 lodge and band members are expected to march through Glasgow on Saturday, July 4, with thousands more expected to line the streets throughout the day.

Proceedings will begin with dozens of smaller processions setting off from halls and meeting points across Glasgow throughout the morning before converging for the main walk through the city centre.

The first marches are due to begin from around 8.30am, with groups assembling in areas including Springburn, Maryhill, Whiteinch, Drumchapel, Partick, Dalmarnock, Bridgeton, Parkhead, Shettleston, Easterhouse, Pollok and the city centre.

The largest procession will see around 1500 participants assemble in the Southside before making their way into the centre, while other groups ranging from around 100 to more than 900 marchers will join the main procession throughout the morning.

Once the walks have converged, thousands of participants will take part in the main Boyne procession through Glasgow city centre to commemorate the Battle of the Boyne – a symbol of Protestant victory.
