AYUTTHAYA: The province's 10th field hospital for Covid-19 patients, including monks, was opened on Tuesday at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Wang Noi district.

It is in a building of the International Buddhist Studies College inside the university campus.

It was formally opened by Phra Thamvacharabundhit, the university rector, and provincial governor Panu Yaemsri.

The field hospital has 537 beds for patients with mild symptoms. The ground floor serves as a parking lot. There are 305 beds for female patients  on the second floor. On the third floor are 232 beds, 178 for laymen and 54 for Buddhist monks. The monks' toilets are on the fourth floor.

Medical personnel from Rajthanee Hospital have been assigned to work at the hospital.

About 100 patients, most from Wang Noi district, were admitted for treatment on the first day.
