1000-lb Sisters' Amy Slaton reveals her diet amid 'emotional' weight loss journey

1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton has opened up about her "emotional" weight loss journey and shared her secrets to slimming down.

The 35-year-old reality star has impressed viewers with her desire to lose weight, though some fans became concerned that Amy hit some bumps in the road while pregnant with her second child.

The TV personality shares two sons with her husband Michael Halterman — Gage, two, and Glenn, seven months.

However, she's now insisted that she is getting "back on track" with her weight loss after hearing concerns from her doctor.

Speaking about her journey in a new interview, Amy said: "I don't have a favourite [workout] routine. As far as eating habits go, I eat small meals with high protein and low carbs."

The TLC star also gushed over her children and said she can't find the words to express her love for her eldest son.

"Looking at Gage, I just see his whole future basically, as he's going off to college.

"It's emotional. You can't really talk about [it] because you just love him so much you don’t have words to explain how much you love him," she told US Weekly.

Fans became worried for Amy during her second pregnancy after she told doctors on 1000-lb Sisters that she "eats anything".

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "What you put into your body is what you feed your baby. Ultimately you pass on those bad eating habits to your kids."

"She’s doing a disservice to Gage by cutting her own life short," another viewer blasted.

While a third penned: "Looks like this season will be more of the same. Amy doesn't know that by overeating she will reverse the benefit of her surgery."

Another wrote: "She’s a food addict. It’s horrible. Addicts are not voluntarily choosing their addiction over their loved ones or their own lives."

However, it seems as though Amy has listened to the concerns of fans and her doctors.

Speaking to cameras on her reality show, she admitted: "I have to get back on track with my weight loss. You’re about to see a whole new Amy."
