The hotel features an award nominated restaurant (the Station Hotel)

The on-site restaurant is only one of two in the village and features two function suites that cater for 140 guests, making it a popular choice for locals, with plenty of functions pre-booked for the coming months.

In fact, the venue was recently shortlisted for newcomer restaurant of the year and amongst the final three of the Dram Critics Choice Award. It could be run successfully under management or via a lease arrangement with a competent lessee.

The hotel also features two function rooms, catering to 140 guests (the Station Hotel)

Brian Sheldon, Regional Director at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, comments, “With excellent road and rail links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling, there is no doubt that this opportunity will be of huge interest to a wide-ranging audience. The business offers a multi-faceted operation in the middle of the village, next door to Shotts Train Station, which in itself is a key attraction to any prospective buyer.

The hotel has been under the same ownership for over two decades and is now up for sale as the owner seeks retirement after 40 years in the licensed trade. The business was previously run under management until being leased on a short term leasing arrangement. This is due to end this month (April 2023) and it will then revert back to being managed by the current owners.”

The Station Hotel is on the market at £600,000 for the freehold going concern.
