100-year-old grandmother's friendship with binman leaves This Morning viewers in tears

This Morning viewers were in tears today over 100-year-old Dorothy Ballard and Ben Bird's friendship.

The pair charmed fans this morning with their adorable friendship as they spoke to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford via video link.

Ben and Dorothy, known as Mercy, hit the headlines after the binman surprised the great-great-grandmother with a birthday cake.

She reached the milestone last week and received a telegram from the Queen, but received another surprise when Ben turned up on her doorstep with a birthday cake and candles.
