100 jobs up for grabs at HGV trailer manufacturer Don-Bur

HGV trailer manufacturer Don-Bur is on the look out for 100 new staff after seeing a surge in new orders over the last 12 months.

The company currently employs around 450 people across three manufacturing sites in Stoke-on-Trent.

But now the firm is looking for around 100 new recruits to help meet an "unprecedented level of new orders."

The recruitment drive – which includes vacancies for welders, coach builders, sprayers and finishers – comes as a project to expand the Don-Bur manufacturing plant, in Adderley Green, nears completion.

Once complete, the additional land will be used as a storage area to hold stock before it gets delivered to customers.

Marketing manager Richard Owens told StokeonTrentLive: "The amount of orders we have got is absolutely crazy at the moment.

"Generally, a lot of companies are struggling for skilled staff, so I think it's really key for the future and prosperity of the business to make sure we can attract the right people.

"We have such an amazing opportunity because of the order books. Typically, an order book would be circa three months, so the fact we've got over 12 months of orders allows the company to be able to plan a long way in advance and to be able to grow and take advantage of that.

"It's a good opportunity for the local area and a great one for people starting out in their career. It's a very exciting time for us."

Don-Bur has been designing and producing HGV trailers since 1981 and has become the leading original equipment manufacturer for innovative bodywork.

The company is increasingly becoming preferred suppliers to a large blue-chip client base.

Richard said: "We've got plans and an order book for over 12 months, so we need the people and require the labour to be able to fulfil the plan.

"We are hoping the expansion will be completed towards the end of the year, but we are already starting to take on people now."

More details about the current vacancies at Don-Bur can be found on the company's website.
