100 jobs created at kitchen giant Howdens as post-lockdown home renovation drives demand

More than 100 new jobs are being created in East Yorkshire as trade kitchen manufacturer Howdens responds to growing demand.

Lockdown home improvement has seen requirements for bespoke worktops surge, leading to the move at both the Howden and Holme-on-Spalding-Moor sites.

The renovation-propelled growth sees roles range from customer service to operations and management, adding to the 1,200 already employed across both locations.

Julian Lee, operations director at Howdens, said: “It is an exciting period in Howdens’ history as we have seen an increase in demand for our products. We’re also in the process of launching new products that will further strengthen Howdens’ position as a market-leader and further increase demand.

“At a time when there is so much job uncertainty in the economy, we are hopeful that we are able to offer individuals a new and exciting career path.”

Howdens has been a feature of The Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies to Work For consistently for a decade.
