100 days to go - but shops are already decked out and selling Christmas gifts

It is supposed to top 20 degrees at the weekend - and the Ashes have only just finished.

Although the weather screams summer, Newcastle's shops are already beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

There are officially just 100 days until Santa Claus pays us all a visit - well those not on his naughty list.

And even though we still need to get Halloween out the way, that hasn't stopped TJ Hughes from sprinkling a big of Christmas magic all over the Bigg Market.

Santa sheets are on display in the window alongside some of the big man's little helpers.

There are even some Christmas-related unicorn goodies, although Santa is better known for travelling by reindeer and sleigh.

Elsewhere, advent calenders are also starting to sneak on supermarket shelves.

Some might say September is too early to be thinking about Christmas, especially when it is still so sunny outside.

But according to The Mirror, over 13 million Brits have already actually finished their Christmas shopping.
