10-year-old girl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Co Antrim

A 10-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Co Antrim.

The emergency services were called to Carnmoney Road, Glengormley, just before 5.30pm on Tuesday, August 17, following reports that a child had been involved in a collision with a car.

Police closed a section of the road for a number of hours following the collision while paramedics treated the injured girl at the scene before taking her to hospital.

Anyone who may have any information regarding the incident or have dashcam footage of the area at the time being asked to call police on non-emergency number 101.

Chief Inspector Moore said: “Shortly after 5.30pm, we received a report that a child had been involved in a collision with a car in the Carnmoney Road area of Glengormley.

“The girl was taken to hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage that could help with enquiries, is asked to get in touch with police on 101, quoting reference number 1384 of 17/08/21.”
