If you haven’t already noticed it dominating your Instagram feed, the 10-Year Challenge is the latest social media craze sweeping the internet.
The new viral trend is seeing people share pictures of themselves from 2009 alongside one from 2019, often with extraordinary results.
So far, a bevy of A-listers have taken part and, while some have used it as an opportunity to show just how little they’ve aged or how much better your life can get, others have taken the challenge with a pinch of salt instead delivering comical side-by-side snapshots.
Here, we take a look at some of our favourite celebrity transformations.
Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner used the 10-Year Challenge as an opportunity to reflect on her journey to transgender womanhood.
Alongside the before-and-after photo, she wrote: “Now THAT is a #10YearChallenge. Be authentic to yourself”.
Miley Cyrus
For her #10YearChallenge post, singer Miley Cyrus shared an image of her and new husband Chris Hemsworth who, coincidentally, met in 2009.
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen shared a photo of herself and John Legend on Twitter, joking that her husband hadn’t changed in 10 years.
“How is John gonna look exactly the same,” she wrote.
Amy Schumer
True to her typical witty self, actor Amy Schumer shared a hilarious post on Instagram for the 10-Year Challenge.
Instead of an old image of herself, the comedian used a picture of Charlize Theron dressed Aileen Wuornos from the film Monster, alongside a snap of her showing her baby bump.
Tyra Banks
Inspired by Janet Jackson, 90s supermodel Janet Jackson shared a photo of herself at 18-year-old with one today alongside the hashtag #HowHardDidAgingHitYouChallenge.
Jennifer Lopez
Singer and actor Jennifer Lopez’s 10-Year Challenge photo included an image of her with a baby bump that held her now 10-year-old twins, Emme and Max, alongside a shot from her music video Bad Bunny.
Reese Witherspoon
For her 10-Year Challenge offering, actor Reese Witherspoon shared two red carpet photos alongside the caption: “Time sure does fly when you are having fun!!”
Fans commented on the image to comment on the fact that Witherspoon looks “the same” with many asking for the secret to her youthful appearance.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Eschewing convention, Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson chose to share an image of himself in 2009 alongside a picture of actor Frances Conroy in character as American Horror Story's councilor witch Myrtle Snow.
“Everyone’s doing it. 2009-2019,” he captioned the post.
Gabrielle Union
Instead of sharing just two photos for the challenge, actor Gabrielle Union posted three images of herself, one from 1998, one from 2008 and another form 2018.
The star received a flurry of compliments from fans who declared her the unofficial winner of the challenge.
Jessica Biel
Star of Netflix’s hit show The Sinner, Jessica Biel looks almost identical in her 10-Year Challenge post, aside from a change in hair colour.
“What a difference ten years can make! Although I do still have a lot of love for my tan lines, hoops and blonde days,” she wrote.
