10 things to know about Jake Arrieta and his no-hitter

Aug. 31--1. He had the 14th no-hitter in Cubs history and the first since Carlos Zambrano in 2008.

2. He wore a mustache-covered onesie during the news conference following his no-hitter. Toddland makes the Mustache Union Suit and sells it online and in Chicago stores such as Belmont Army. The Cubs wore pajamas as part of a theme party for the flight back to Chicago.

3. Only Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole has given up fewer home runs per nine innings (0.21) than Arrieta (0.26), according to fangraphs.com.

4. He had the second-lowest ERA (2.11) and the second-most quality starts (23) in the majors as of Monday.

5. Arrieta has credited the evolution of his game to mental preparation. "I was able to shift away from the mechanical focus into more of a mindset focus," he told the Tribune earlier this year.

6. He drinks kale juice and does Pilates as part of his nutrition and fitness regimen.
