New Orleans Saints training camp is set to kick off in just a matter of weeks, with 13 practice sessions open to the public. Here’s a list of answers to frequently asked questions before you make plans to attend.
1. Where do practices take place?
The Saints will conduct twelve practices at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center in Metairie, with one night practice held at Tulane University on August 4. Check here for a full list of dates and times.
2. Are practices free to attend?
Yes, fans will not have to pay an admittance fee. But seating is limited at the team practice facility and you must reserve tickets on the official team website. Ticket reservations for the general public will open up on July 18.
3. What about parking?
Free parking is available at the New Orleans Baby Cakes Baseball Stadium parking lots adjacent to the Ochsner Sports Performance Center. Shuttle service will be available to help fans travel to and from the practice field. An ADA dropoff point is located at the main entrance to the practice field.
4. Can you bring chairs, coolers, or umbrellas?
Coolers and hard-sided containers are prohibited. While seating will be available in covered misting bleachers, fans can bring their own folding chairs. Umbrellas wider than four feet in diameter are not allowed.
5. What about purses, bags, or backpacks?
Backpacks and duffel bags are not allowed, and purses or handbags larger than 16”x14”x13” are banned. Be sure to measure any bags you want to bring before arriving at the practice field.
6. Can we bring our own food or drinks? Will concessions be available?
Outside food and beverages are banned, barring medical conditions. This year’s training camp will feature expanded options for purchasing food, drink, and team merchandise at the practice facility.
7. Are cameras and binoculars allowed at practices?
Fans can bring cameras to take still-photos, but no video. Camera lenses longer than six inches are prohibited. Binocular cases and camera bags are not allowed, and team staffers can request any such devices be put away at any time.
8. Are there public restrooms?
Restrooms are available at the team practice facility.
9. Can practices be cancelled?
Practice may be cancelled at any time, though updates will be posted immediately on the Saints website as well as their social media accounts. In the event of rough weather (rain, thunderstorms, or extreme heat) practice will be moved to the indoor facility, which has no public access. Tickets for these moved or cancelled practices can be redeemed at any subsequent practice.
10. When can we get autographs?
Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs from players following each practice, though it is not guaranteed that they will get an autograph. Players may be unavailable due to weather, time constraints, or other circumstances.
