10 things fans should know for attending Jags training camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that seven training camp practices will be open to the public on Wednesday as we are just over a week from the start of camp. For those who will attend, here are the answers to 10 of the most commonly asked questions about the sessions:

1. Where will the Jags’ seven public practice sessions take place?

All of the Jags’ public practice sessions will be held at The Dream Finders Homes Practice Complex adjacent to TIAA Bank Field.

2. When are the practices and what time will they begin?

The whole first week of training camp will be open to the public, which will be from Thursday, July 25 to Thursday, August  1. Saturday’s session (July 27) will be exclusive to season ticket holders and the team will have Monday (July 29) off. Each session will be early at 8:45-11:45 a.m., but the gates will open at 8:15 a.m.

3. Are the public practice sessions free?

Yes, and free parking will be in Lots M and N. However, fans will have to register for the practice sessions here.

4. Is there reserved seating?

No, all fans will have to sit (or stand) in the facilities bleacher area. Seat cushions are prohibited as well. Also, with Florida enduring hot conditions at this point in the year, fans are encouraged to wear the proper attire, headwear, hydrate properly and wear sunscreen.

5. What’s the bag policy?

Purses or bags larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are prohibited.

6. Can you bring food and drinks to practice?

Per the Jags site, food isn’t on the list of prohibited items (but we’ll say no to be safe) though beverages are (as are cans, bottles coolers, containers, and cups).

7. Are cameras allowed?

Cameras with detachable lenses or lenses longer than six inches are prohibited.

The full list of prohibited items can be found here if we left off anything.

8. Is practice ever canceled?

All sessions are subject to public cancelation. Of course, most times that only happens as a result of inclement weather, which will in all probability result in the team moving indoors to the flex-field where the public wouldn’t be allowed.

9. Are there bathrooms at practice?

The Jags will have portable restrooms available at the facility.

10. Are players available to sign autographs?

Yes. Typically after practice, fans can get autographs from the players as they are exiting the practice field by lining up at the practice field’s barricade.
