The Eagles are in Indianapolis for the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine and before the players take the field for workouts, coaches and GM held their annual press conference.
Howie Roseman addressed the media first and held things close to the vest in regard to a new contract for quarterback Jalen Hurts, and how Philadelphia will prioritize 18 pending free agents.

Howie Roseman on NFL trying to outlaw QB Sneak
The NFL will discuss outlawing the Eagles’ version of the quarterback sneak, and Roseman was not in agreement.
In regard to the outlawing of push QB sneaks, Howie Roseman says that a play shouldn’t be outlawed just because it works. (He then turned to an Eagles PR guy and looked for reassurance that he wouldn’t get fined for that comment.)

Roseman called Jalen Hurts elite while discussing his All-Pro quarterback and he’ll certainly work to get a deal done that benefits both parties.

Howie Roseman on not handing out extensions during the regular season
Roseman avoided handing out any extensions during the 2022 regular season and although most felt it was due to Jalen Hurts’ looming contract, Roseman blamed it on chemistry and wanting to keep continuity.
