10-strong teen gang hit woman with walking stick, 50s, in face laughing as they film Dublin city assault

A teen gang with as many as ten members smacked a 51-year-old woman in the face with rubbish bags during a frightening attack in Dublin city.

The woman was cornered by the young group as she walked alone on Henry Street on Tuesday.

It is understood that the attackers, some of whom were as young as 15 according to the victim, filmed the assault and laughed as the woman struggled.

She is said to have fended off the group, by using her walking stick, who fled the scene after the night time attack.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating the assault of a woman in her early 50s on Henry Street.

"The woman was set upon by a group but did not sustain any injuries during the incident."
