Exams are rarely people's favourite experience at school. In Scotland, pupils sit National 5 exams at the age of 15/16, although of course things have been a bit different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The SQA put all of their past papers online, so we decided to have a look at the most recent National 5 French exams from 2019, 2018 and 2017 to see if we could understand any of it after spending time flirting with the Duolingo Owl during lockdown.
It turned out to be a bit harder than we'd expected! Depending on how recently you studied French, you might find it a bit easier than we did though. Take the test and let us know how you got on in the comments!
We certainly think that learning other languages is a great thing to do, but sitting exams is a tricky business. Well done to all of the clever young people from Edinburgh who have managed to pass their National 5s.
