10 Players the Philadelphia Eagles could target in round-3 of the 2020 NFL Draft

We are only 24 hours away from the start of the 2020 NFL Draft and the intrigue is building as experts and analysts continue to predict what great players will be landing where.

The Eagles currently have eight picks in the NFL draft and GM Howie Roseman will look to add young talent to his reigning NFC East champions.

With the draft deep at several positions, here are 10-players the Eagles could target in round-3 of the draft:

***

1. Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio St.

A talented cornerback who should get the benefit of the doubt because of his Buckeye pedigree, Arnette has the size and physical tools to become a sleeper pick in the draft.

As a Senior, Arnette earned Second Team All Big-10 honors.

Arnette’s 27.8 completion percentage was the lowest passer rating allowed in single coverage of any cornerback in the draft this year and his 5.46 yards per target in coverage allowed last season was among the best according to Pro Football Focus.

2. Cameron Dantzler, CB, Miss. State

Dantzler is a high school quarterback who transitioned to defensive back before heading to Starkville. Dantzler redshirted the 2016 season before earning a key role in the Bulldogs defense.

The one bad game LSU wideout J’Mar Chase had last season came against Dantzler and the Bulldogs defense.

Dantzler missed three games with injuries during the 2019 season, sitting out games against Kansas State, Texas A&M, and Abilene Christian.

Round 3: Troy Pride Jr.

3.Troy Pride, CB, Notre Dame

The Notre Dame star is solidly built at 5-foot-11, 193 pounds, and can run, excelling in man-to-man, and rarely gets beat.

4. Reggie Robinson II, CB, Tulsa

The talented cornerback has an athletic frame standing 6-foot-1, 205 pounds. A cornerstone of the Tulsa defense, Robinson earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors after amassing four interceptions and 13 pass breakups. Robinson also posted 38 tackles, one for loss, and two fumble recoveries.

5. Cam Akers, RB, Florida State

Every stud running back needs a sidekick, and Akers meets all of the requirements when it comes to size, speed, and production.

At 5-foot-10, 217 pounds, Akers is comparable to Miles Sanders and the projected Day 2 pick has all the tools to ensure that Miles Sanders doesn’t get worn down carrying the load.

6. Matt Hennessy, Center, Temple

A Temple product and Giants fan as a kid, Hennessy has turned hard work into an opportunity to become a day two or day three pick in the NFL draft.

Hennessy met with the Eagles at the Senior Bowl and could be an option for added depth on the offensive line.

7.Saahdiq Charles, Offensive Tackle, LSU

The Eagles reportedly hosted Charles on a top-30 visit before the league shut down in-person visits because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Charles started 26 games at left tackle for LSU and has experience playing guard and right tackle as well.

At 6-foot-4, 321-pounds, Charles is a monster athlete, but will likely fall due to concerns about his character after being suspended six games last season.

8.Bradlee Anae, Edge-Rusher, Utah

Anae has ideal height and weight for an edge rusher and was named first-team All Pac-12 and first-team All American and was awarded the Morris Trophy as the best defensive lineman in the Pac-12 and was a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award in 2019.

9. Malik Harrison, Linebacker, Ohio State

Harrison doesn’t have the name recognition of Chase Young or Jeff Okudah, but he could emerge as one of the draft’s best storylines. An unheralded prospect, Harrison developed into the Buckeyes’ leading tackler and a second-day draft pick.

10. Damien Lewis, Guard, LSU

Lewis, like his teammate Saahdiq Charles, has been garnering interest from the Eagles, and both recently had predraft meetings with the team.

A versatile offensive guard who joined the Tigers after two-years of Juco, Lewis earned second-team All-SEC honors after starting 15 games at right guard during the LSU’s national title run.
