10 places with the highest rates of covid in Scotland - and Glasgow's included

The areas worst hit by covid in Scotland have been revealed in new figures.

In terms of the rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Dundee City has the highest in the country — at 322.1 between June 10 and 16 and 481 positive cases.

It's followed by South Ayrshire, which includes Ayr, Prestwick, Girvan, Maybole and Troon, with a rate of 234.4 per 100,000 and recording 264 positive cases in the same week.

City of Edinburgh comes in third with 216.4 per 100,000 and recorded 1,136 positive tests in that period.

Glasgow recorded 1,026 cases between June 10 and 16 with a positivity rate of 162.1, coming in at the ninth spot in the worst hit areas.
