10 pictures that'll give anyone who grew up in '90s Edinburgh intense nostalgia

For many of us Edinburghers, the 1990s feel like they just happened. Birthday parties at Wimpy Burger and Little Marcos, checking out the fish tanks at the National Museum of Scotland, or queuing up outside the short-lived Eros and Elite nightclub after spending your weekly wage at Cult clothing, it is certainly a decade to look back on fondly.

People who grew up in Scotland's capital city in the 90s might remember begging their parents to queue overnight for a Buzz Lightyear or Telletubbies toy at Christmas or dodging the 'razerblades' on the epic flumes at the Commie pool (before tucking into chips at nearby Bratisanni's). Ice cream at Mr Boni's was also a treat as was Saturday night tea at Fat Sams' restaurant.

You probably picked up your new school jotters at John Menzies or went on an outing to the UCI at Kinnaird Park. Pick 'n' mix at Woolies was a must-do - as well as nabbing a seat at the front of a Lothian Bus.

In these gloomier times, we take a look at ten pictures that are sure to make you nostalgic for Scotland's capital city in the 1990s.
