10 Liverpool parking hotspots where you are most likely to get a ticket

There's nothing worse than getting back to your car and finding a dreaded yellow envelope stuck to the windscreen.

But there are some parts of the city where you're far more likely to get a ticket than others, according to official figures obtained by the ECHO .

A Freedom of Information request submitted to Liverpool Council revealed one street saw more than 4,000 tickets issued so far this year.

Mount Pleasant car park and the street itself had a combined of total of a whopping 4,606 tickets issued so far this year - making it the worst place for parking fines in Liverpool.

From January 1 to September 30, parking wardens handed out more than 75,000 Penalty Charge Notices on behalf of Liverpool City Council.

This means that so far this year, the council on average issued a whopping 279 parking tickets per day.

These are the top 10 hotspots where you're most likely to be ticketed in Liverpool, including how many drivers got caught out there.

10. Rodney Street

Rodney Street (L1) comes in at number 10 with more than one thousand tickets issued in the last nine months.

The council issued 1,053 parking charges for vehicles parked on the road.

9. William Brown Street

William Brown Street in L3 had more than a thousand tickets issued to vehicles left parked on the road with parking officers issuing 1,137 tickets in the last nine months.

Stanley Street had 1,216 recorded parking fines this year.

6. Victoria Street 

Victoria Street in L2 had 1,245 parking tickets issued to vehicles on the street.

5. Copperas Hill

Copperas Hill saw 1,274 parking fines issued so far in 2019.

4. Prescot Street 

Home to the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Prescot Street saw 1,324 parking fines issued to drivers so far this year. 

In previous years, the L7 street has ranked highest among parking ticket hotspots, with 2,318 fines in 2018 and 2,630 in 2017.

3. Seel Street

Seel street is third on the list with 1,475 Penalty Charge Notices handed out for cars parked on the street.

2. Duke Street

Taking the second spot, Duke street had 1,543 tickets issued to vehicles since January.

1. Mount Pleasant

The top two parking fine hotspots in the city are both located on Mount Pleasant.

Mount Pleasant Car Park saw the most parking tickets issued by the council so far in 2019 with 3,013 Penalty Charge Notices issued since January.

The car park had almost double the number of fines of the second greatest hotspot, Mount Pleasant itself where 1,593 tickets were issued.

This meant that the street had the two biggest ticket hotspots in the city.
